Alternatively, you may have no support. It is still relatively rare for internal or external IT support resources to have the necessary credentials to help you adequately guard against the risks faced by today’s businesses. This means that you may need to have access to a cyber and information security support specialist in order to ensure optimum protection and resolve any problems as they occur.

There are a number of recognised training organisations providing qualifications and accreditations in cyber and information security support. Use only providers who have the appropriate qualifications, such as:

CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional or SSCP Systems Security Certified Practitioner Certified Information

GICSP Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional

  • From a number of universities:

MSc in Information Security and similar degrees

You should also check for membership of an appropriate professional body.
